Blankets and Wine Presents African Nouveau Festival

On the 5th & 6th of September 2015, Blankets and Wine, East Africa’s Premier Music experience, will stage it’s annual 2-day festival at the Ngong’ Racecourse, Nairobi with this year’s edition dubbed Africa Nouveau. The festival will bring together artists, creatives, cultural influencers and social trendsetters from all over Africa who are creating and expressing the ‘New African dream’.

Now, more than ever, we must look to the creativity and innovative spirit of Africa’s creative industry to deliver new ways to express ourselves artistically, as well as our socio-political desire for an equitable, sustainable, inclusive and progressive Africa. If Africa is to achieve her potential in this generation, then we will need to re-construct the relationship between way African political leadership and the African people, and we are calling on Africa’s artists to lead the way in giving voice to these aspirations.

Africa Nouveau is at once a platform designed to showcase the most cutting-edge, innovative, trend setting ideas from across the African Creative Industry and its diaspora, but also a socio-political gathering to express our desires for new commitments from African Governments to adopt and deliver the Global Sustainable Development Goals so as to create a new Africa that corresponds with the aspirations of the African population.

Africa is at the epicenter of a global revolution. We need to use our voices to demand more of ourselves and of the leadership. Thus, Blankets & Wine has partnered with Save The Children and CEFA to bring some of the coolest, most inspiring and unique creative ideas from the African continent today in the fields of Music, Art, Fashion and Food. The event is dubbed, Africa Nouveau: The New Africa.
