Cece Sagini

Cece Sagini has been making waves over the past year with her sultry voice. Cece already has 3 singles out including a collabo with Octopizzo, ‘I’m A Doer’. I like Cece Sagini because she is undeniably vocally talented and also writes her own music. (Yes, I know that may not seem like an accomplishment as a lot of Kenyan musicians write their own music but that doesn’t mean they’re any good at it.) I am a fan of her style as well and think she has what it takes to make it big not only in Kenya but also on the continent.

Her 4th single, ‘9 to 5’ is a fun take on the stress that sometimes comes with employment. Directed by Moses Osidiana and released on 21st February 2016, the video is set in an office featuring Cece Sagini as a bored employee looking forward to ‘hometime’ and trying to reduce her boredom by having some fun at work. The catchy track is produced by MG and has a groove to it that’s perfect for the dancefloor. The video concept of ‘the sleeping employee who has a dream about a random dancing party at her place of work’ is perfect for the song. Cece Sagini looks fantastic with her blonde fade and pink jacket and if this anything to go by, I can’t wait for her to release more music.

Fav lyrics: Kitu gani ‘nafanya usicheze?

Fav moment: When the dance party at the office goes full-blown. (Especially when the boss joins in.)

Jam best for: Bored days at the office especially when it’s 30 minutes to ‘hometime’ and you can’t wait to get out the door. Also, when you’re at the club with your workmates after work and you’re celebrating making it through a tough day.

Rating: 3.5/5
