Content consumption has changed over the last decade with more consumers opting for digital means of consumption. The video on demand model has worked because consumers can now pick what to watch and when to watch it. Even better, the sophistication of mobile technology has led to people consuming more content on their mobile phones. This has led to content created specifically for mobile consumption. Five years ago, I’d never have thought that some of my favourite shows would be web shows or that I would consume most video content online and through my phone and tab.Kenyans haven’t been left behind and have been creating interesting web shows or at least making content that is on TV available online. You can watch TV shows online less a day or two ater they’ve aired. It’s also become apparent to Kenyan content producers that an online platfrom offeres direct and quick engagement with audiences.

Love Matters is a website that provides easy-to-access information and news on sexuality and sexual health for young adults around the world. They’ve used online platforms like Facebook and Twitter to have discussions on sex that have long been considered taboo. They’ve gone an extra step and launched a daring web series that explores sex, LGBTQI+ issues, GBV among other topics. The series, ”Ukweli Wa Reality”, debuted on their YouTube channel. Episodes run for 1 minute with 53 in a season.
