TECNO has launched quite a number of great devices in the past year. I however, haven’t had an opportunity to try out any of them until now. The TECNO brand is one of the best when it comes to affordable smartphones with great specs. I got my hands on the latest from them, the TECNO CAMON 20 Mr Doodle Edition, and here are my first impressions.

The packaging is sleek and compact but with an extra twist thanks to TECNO’s collaboration with celebrated artiste, Mr Doodle.

The Phone Specs

The TECNO CAMON 20 Mr Doodle Edition is a special edition of the TECNO CAMON 20 series. The new addition to the series was designed in collaboration with the graffiti artist, Sam Cox, popularly known as Mr Doodle. The phone adopts the moon phase color changing technology, combining Mr Doodle’s graffiti paintings with CAMON 20’s unique 3D design. The back cover absorbs light during the day time and releases it as fluorescence at night, allowing the phone’s back to display Mr Doodle’s graffiti works. 

Just like the CAMON 20, it comes with a triple camera setup with a leading 64MP primary lens with sensor-shift OIS and support for ultra-steady video, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. For video, it shoots 4K video. The selfie camera is 32MP and it shoots 2K video.

It comes with Android 13 and HiOS 13, Dimensity 8050 5G chipset and 8GB RAM onboard and 8GB Virtual with storage starting from 256GB. For display is a 6.67″ AMOLED screen and battery is a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging.

TECNO CAMON 20 Series Mr Doodle Edition is made up of the CAMON 20 Premier 5G Mr Doodle Edition, CAMON 20 Pro 5G Mr Doodle Edition and CAMON 20 Pro Mr Doodle Edition. The series’ Mr Doodle’s iconic artwork will retail at Kshs. 28,499 for the CAMON 20, Kshs. 35,499 for the CAMON 20 Pro, Kshs. 44,999 for the CAMON 20 Pro 5G and Kshs. 61,999 for the CAMON 20 Premier 5G edition. All devices have been in store from 20th September 2023.
