The month of love is almost here and I am excited. I love love and love celebrating love. All my friends know that I have always wanted to host a Galentines event and this year is when I finally do it. I reached out to my good friend, Muthoni Gitau, and asked her to join me on this adventure and she said yes so here we go with our first Zeda Craft and Sip Galentines Edition.

What is Zeda?

First things first, what is Zeda? Zeda is my media start-up focused on building community and telling stories of and by African women. I started it back in 2020 but then had terrible burnout and had to put it on the shelf in 2021. Also, living through a pandemic wasn’t exactly a peak start-up launching time. Yes I’m aware for some it was, but trust me this wasn’t one of them.

What is the Zeda Experience?

The Zeda Experience is women-only curated experience focused on bringing women together through boutique events including tastings, parties and of course, craft and sips, among others. We have so much coming up this year so make sure to follow our social media pages on Instagram and Twitter to stay updated.

About Zeda Craft and Sip

This will be our first craft and sip and will be a Galentines edition. It’ll be over drunch (yes Drunch and not brunch darling) and will be at one of my hidden gem places in Nairobi, Two Grapes Wine & Friends. I wanted the event to be on a Sunday afternoon to really capture that relaxed Sunday vibe that I think is perfect for craftmaking and drunching.

We’ll make 3 crafts at the event: a pompom yarn bookmark, a greeting card and an affirmation mirror. The point is to explore our creativity and to enjoy sisterhood in a serene atmosphere. Muthoni Gitau will lead the craftmaking as she is a seasoned DIY queen and the perfect person to partner on this.

This will be a bimonthly event (every 2 months) and will be hosted consistently by me and Muthoni. Every edition will have its own theme and crafts and I am excited to get my creative juices flowing and meet all the wonderful women I know I’ll meet through this.

Tickets are Ksh 2,500 and cover craft materials and a welcome drink. Get your tickets here and happy Galentines!
