Hi there, I’m Mwende Ngao, an award-winning multimedia pluridisciplinary storyteller based in Nairobi, Kenya working at the intersection of media, tech and culture. I am the Founder and Creative Producer of Zeda Media, a media company that works to platform African women’s voices and stories. With a keen eye for narrative and a deep commitment to community, I create impactful content that challenges norms and sparks conversation.
I believe in the power of storytelling to inspire change and I am dedicated to building platforms and telling stories that center the perspectives of marginalised voices. I am especially passionate about telling stories that center Africans and portray us as complex and layered.

Do you have a regular column or blogpost on the Kenyan literary scene ? I would like to direct you to my organization’s website where you will find the 2014 winners of the Children’s Africana Book Awards, including Kenyan-born author Mubina Kirmani, and Kenya-based illustrator Tony Siema. My name is Michael, 30yrs, and I have been into creative writing for a period of 10 years. I have completed two manuscripts ever since, one of which was a self published book titled “The Flow of Time”, a historical bio set in the pre – colonial time which I released in 2013.
My strengths however lies in script writing, which is why I am contacting you about.
