Why I’m Excited to Return to Podcasting with Zeda Talks

There’s something magical about sitting behind a mic, hitting “record,” and letting your voice carry stories into the world. After taking a break, I’m beyond excited to say: Zeda Talks is back.
I didn’t realize how much I missed it, until I was outlining new episodes, dreaming up guest lists, and hearing the theme music again. It felt like coming home.
When I first started Zeda Talks, it was about creating space for bold African women to share their journeys, for real and unfiltered conversations, for joy, laughter, vulnerability, and truth. I wanted it to sound like a night in with your girls: affirming, thoughtful, sometimes hilarious, and always real.
And honestly? That still holds. But now, I’m returning with even more clarity, more courage, and a deeper commitment to what storytelling can do.
There’s a power and responsibility in using your voice. This return to podcasting feels like reclaiming both. I’m back, full of stories and questions, ready to sit in conversation with the people and topics that matter most.
Podcasting has always felt like one of the most intimate mediums. It’s just you and the listener, often in their ears as they cook, commute, rest, or reflect. That trust? It’s sacred. And this time around, I want to honour it even more.
I’ve grown. Zeda has grown. Our community has grown. And so, the conversations will too. Expect deeper dives. Expect fun and play. Expect necessary discomfort. Expect African women’s voices. Loud, beautiful, and expansive. Expect more of the stories we rarely get to tell.
This season of Zeda Talks will explore everything from womanhood, ambition, and identity to healing, love, culture, and creativity. We’ll be hearing from artists, authors, activists, lovers, dreamers. Basically women who are shaping the present and imagining bold futures.
There’ll be solo episodes (yes, I’ve got things to say!) and unforgettable guests. And of course, the same unapologetic heart that Zeda is known for.
Thank you for still being here. For waiting. For asking when the podcast would return. For trusting this space with your time and attention. You’re the reason I do this.
If you’re new to Zeda Talks, welcome. You’re in for something special. We’ll be back in the next few weeks and I look forward to the ride.
