Safaricom has launched the new MySafaricom App. The app has been on beta since February 2020.

I was already using the beta version though most of the features were unavailable. As the app has now been officially launched, all the features are available and more.

The first thing you’ll notice with the app is the interface. It’s clean and better organized and definitely an improvement from the old app.

There are 5 tabs at the bottom of the app to help you navigate the app: Home, M-PESA, Safaricom, Discover and Account.

Home features your favourite or most used Safaricom services. There’s an option to pick those up as you set up the app.

The M-PESA tab allows you to easily access all M-PESA services. The Safaricom button is a shortcut button for easy access to Safaricom services. The Discover button lets you access content like newspapers. The Account tab shows you important information like your phone number, your tariff and PUK.

Other features on the app include the ability to scan numbers from scratch cards to load airtime. You can also pay for Home Fibre directly from the app.

As per Safaricom data, the old mySafaricom app has 6.1 million users while the beta version was being tested by over 50,000 users.

Safaricom is giving free 500MB of data to customers when they download the new app.

You can download the new app for Android on Google Play and for iOS on the App Store.
