As we celebrate women’s month and International Women’s Day, it is important to remember that the best way to do this is to move from talk to action. I choose to challenge by spotlighting some of my favourite women’s businesses going beyond and taking up space and I hope you check them out and support them by paying for their goods and services.

The Handmade Life

For all your decor needs from weddings to parties to any branding like stickers, toppers for your events check out The Handmade Life. Run by Faith Kioko, she is creative, easy to work with and diligent.

She did all the decor for my event The Zeda Experience, and I loved it.

Tsebo Catering

For all your catering needs, check out Tsebo Catering. They serve delicious meals at affordable prices. Great for group events like birthdays, dates and other celebrations or just a change from cooking your own meals. Rosemary is great at communication and deliveries are prompt. I used Tsebo for a staycation where we did not want to do any of our own cooking and it was perfect.

Wangari Mathenge

If you’re looking to wear Kenyan designers, you can never go wrong with Wangari Mathenge. I absolutely love her eye and the tailoring is amazing. She’s pretty great especially if like me, you’re a lover of kimonos.

Jaybee the MUA

You know my makeup is flawless every time I get it professionally done. The reason for that is my long-term make-up artiste, Jaybee the MUA. She has been doing my make-up for 4 years now so we’ll that I’ve recruited friends and family into her client list.

Fleopatra Scents

If you’re looking for good quality Kenyan-made home fragrances including candles and room and linen sprays Florence Kamaitha has got you sorted. She started Fleopatra Scents last year and it’s quickly become a favourite.

Style by Ray

Style by Ray sells good quality thrifted clothes at an affordable price and I have a sinful amount of them in my closet. She is also a great stylist as she has a great eye for fashion.

Mosara

My favourite Kenyan hair brand is Mosara. I especially love their shampoo and conditioner, and it’s been lovely to see Founder, Wacu growing her business as I became acquintated with her a few years ago when she was starting out.

It’s great to see so many women thriving in business, and to see that they are able to transact and grow their businesses through Safaricom.
