I had a wonderful afternoon of champagne and hors d’oeuvres at the Farimont Norfolk Hotel courtesy of Moët & Chandon. Founded in 1743, Moët & Chandon is the Maison that introduced champagne to the world by offering a range of unique wines for every occasion. From the iconic Moët Impérial to the Grand Vintage Collection, the extroverted Moët Rosé Impérial and the unique Nectar Imperial, each champagne dazzles and delights with bright fruitiness, an enticing palate and an elegant maturity.

Since the days of Jean-Rémy Moët, the House has been a pioneer and an innovator in the art of celebration. Some of the world’s best-loved traditions, such as the triumphant spray of Moët & Chandon after a sports victory, the christening of ships with bottles of Moët & Chandon, and the red carpet toast to a career-making cinema win, are among the House’s many magical customs.

Moët & Chandon Global Brand Ambassador, Mr Pierre-Louis Araud, made his second official trip to Kenya this week. Mr Araud is a connoisseur of luxury and celebration and he comes to Kenya in a bid to share Jean-Remy Moët’s lifelong goal, in his own words: “To share the magic of champagne with the world.”

Together with the Mr Alexandre Helaine, the Moët Hennessy Eastern Africa Market Manager, Mr Araud met with top media personalities for an afternoon delight experience which gave all the attendees an immersion into the rich heritage, finesse and sophistication of Maison Moët & Chandon.

Speaking at the luncheon Mr Araud noted that “Kenya for Moët & Chandon House represents the future in Africa. We deeply believe that soon Kenya will be in the top three markets in Africa together with Nigeria and South Africa”.  “I really feel great energy in Nairobi and Kenya in general,” he added. “I feel this great sense of celebration and savoir-fete and that is at the center of our DNA.”

The luncheon was attended by some of Kenyan’s well-known personalities, and with the dress code being pastels, there were plenty of stylish ensembles in the room.

The The talented Scott the Violinist set the mood and the luncheon was crowned by a mini fashion show by Aulgah Nato of Nato Design House that featured gorgeous champagne dresses.
