Breakfast and Journaling

I had a wonderful coffee date today with a good friend and she brought to my attention the fact that sometimes we really need to take some time out to figure out what exactly we want to do and that it’s okay to grant ourselves permission to do so. It can be difficult to pause in a world that is constantly racing and expects you to be ever on the move but it is necessary to take stock for self care and to give yourself time to reflect.

I absolutely love the idea of being lost and it being a good thing when acknowledged as it gives you an opportunity to figure out what your missteps and how you can get back on your path. Lately, I’ve been taking self care very seriously in a bid to be at my best and hence do my best at life. One of the things I have been protective of in my self care regimen is meditation and journaling. Putting aside time every day to reflect on how things are going has been incredibly useful as I’ve become more attuned to my body as well as more conscious of my decision-making patterns. It’s also nice to just have a written testament of your thoughts and feelings as a future reference of the strides you’ve made. I also kinda like the idea that perhaps one day (when I’m long gone of course) my journals will be published and/or shared and there’ll be something there worth taking away for the reader(s) even if it’s just the evidence that I put my all into living a life I could be proud of.
