The Safaricom Foundation was founded in 2003 and is one of the largest corporate Foundations in Kenya with a footprint in all of Kenya’s 47 counties. The Foundation’s  focus on building communities and transforming lives, has seen over 1,400 community projects implemented in education, health, economic empowerment, environmental conversation, water, and disaster response interventions.

About Ndoto Zetu

Ndoto Zetu, launched 2019, is an initiative by the Safaricom Foundation to partner with Kenyans keen to make a difference in their communities through social investments. Since its inception, Ndoto Zetu has executed over 600 projects worth Ksh 90 million, ranging from Ksh 40,000 such as sanitary towels distribution, to initiatives worth Ksh 1.5 million like donation of maternity equipment to hospitals positively impacting close to 2 million Kenyans.

The initiative focuses on health, education and economic empowerment projects and Safaricom has set aside Ksh 100 million for successfully submitted projects.

How To Apply

The application process has a few steps that applicants need to complete. Here’s a breakdown to help you prepare and submit a successful application.

  • Pick your category from health, education and economic empowerment categories.
  • Enter the title of your project.
  • Enter the location of your project – county, constituency and ward.
  • Enter details of the/your organisation and your role/relationship with it and its location.
  • Has the organisation been funded by Ndoto Zetu or Safaricom Foundation?
  • Enter your contact details – phone number and email address.
  • Enter personal details – gender, level of education, level of employment, age group and details of the beneficiaries of the project.
  • Share a description of your project.
  • Share how the funding will be used and if it’s sustainable.
  • Budget (there’s a downloadable template available.
  • Agree with the terms and conditions.

Submissions are open to Kenyans through the Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu website or by visiting and filling in an application form at any Safaricom Retail Shop. Successful participants will be contacted by the Safaricom Foundation through 0722 000 000.
