Thoughts on the Week #14 – Unburden Yourself
It’s conditioning, especially for women, to want to take care of others. Sometimes, (okay, a lot of the times) we find ourselves in toxic situations or relationships but hang on because we feel we can fix things. I have come to realize that it’s okay to let go and to move on. It’s okay to give ourselves permission to be happy and to be free. It is not our job to fix anyone or anything. There is nothing to be proud of about being a martyr for the sake of a toxic relationship. It is also a little arrogant to think we are superheroes or even God and can somehow save people. We can only do so much. We are human. We can’t save everyone and it’s okay to look out for ourselves. Unburden yourself.
Not everyone you love or care for deserves your time or energy. Not everyone you love or care for wants good things for you. Not everyone you love or care for is meant to be in your life. Let them go. You deserve happiness. And peace. Unburden yourself.

You said it all. No mincing of words.
Thank you for reading!
Women ought to outlive the idea of wanting to improve a relationship or work hard to make a man better so much so that they abandon their own needs. It is more worth it to invest in one self fully,to fall in love with Christ and with oneself deeply. The rest will fall in place exactly the way it is meant to be.(Speaking from experience).
Yes, unfortunately we are socialized to sacrifice oursleves even for the most toxic relationships. Thankfully, more of us are realizing that we deserve better and indeed that there is so much more to life.
