I attended the media launch for the inaugural Viva Global Wine Expo at Park Inn By Radisson to get a taste of what to expect and I was not disappointed.

Viva Global, wines and spirits importer and distributor, will kick of its first wine exhibition in Nairobi in a bid to tap into the fast growing retail trade network and hospitality sectors.

The Viva Global Wine Expo which is dated Friday 4th and Saturday 5th October at the Park Inn by Radisson, Westlands, is expected to attract over 400 wine lovers and traders from across the region.

Different from the other events, Viva Global has organized a tasting class for its VIP attendees at an affordable price of Ksh 3000 per class with unlimited wine from different parts of the world, local cheese and chocolate. Regular tickets will offer everything but the tasting class and are Ksh 2000. All tickets can be bought on ticketsasa.

“This event will give our customers a good chance to see our entire range of new world wines. From wine tasting, to wine education our expo will have it all for the wine. enthusiast as well as the wine professionals. They will also have an opportunity to meet experts from viticulture backgrounds at the trade exhibition,” says Ms. Meera Karia, Business Development Manager.

The attendees will expect many grape varieties from different regions. In the reds, there will be a selection of Cabernet Sauvignon from different regions, Merlot and Shiraz from Australia and the popular Pinotage from South Africa. From the whites, beautiful Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, along with a lovely range of Rose wines also.

The wine portfolio includes origins from other countries including, Argentina, California, Australia and New Zealand. They are also planning to start importing wines from France and Italy very soon.

The Viva Global Wine Expo will feature 75 different types of wines including award winning wines and fine wines like Bellingham, Boschendal, and Franschhoek Cellars from the popular DGB Winery in South Africa, Casillero del Diablo from Chile, the lovely Cloudy Bay from New Zealand and also the exclusive Penfolds range from Australia’s oldest winery.

The exhibition is also targeting decision makers of the Food & Beverage departments of the hospitality industry, restauranteurs, retailers, as well as wine enthusiasts.
